Marina, a long-time candy fan who has been shopping at the Confectionery for 20 years, decorated this gorgeous gingerbread house with grandson Mark. Her choice of high-end decorations (the Santa frosting decoration atop the chimney, the Moonstruck polar animal truffles) and all the care that went into the spectacular frosting detail make it (almost) too beautiful to eat!
Crafty Candy Girl Connie made this house --- check out her cinnamon square chimney detail!
Here's something Candy Girl Alexa made at home -- a Gingerbread Candy Girl, complete with pink polka dot apron! Thanks to everyone for sharing their creative holiday creations with us!
Nothing is as fun to give (or get) during the holidays as our custom or pre-wrapped gift baskets. This one has staff favorite peppermint short bread, seasonal red and green malt balls, caramel balls, our mix of dark, milk and blended toffee, peppermint taffy, non-pariels with red & green sprinkles, jack straws, sour cherry gummies, our in-house Christmas Jelly Belly blend, sprinkled with foil-wrapped chocolate bells and, of course, a beautiful foil-wrapped chocolate Santa. Find it at our store pre-wrapped and ready to give for $45.
Tickets are still available for Holidate (With the Girls)! But a $25 ticket -- which benefits the Ronald McDonald House -- and this Tuesday and Wednesday you will get up to 20% in savings at The Confectionery and other participating stores. In addition to the discount card, a Holidate ticket also gets you a free drink and hors d'oeuvres at the Holidate shopping lounge!
The Confectionery is one of more than 40 stores in the U-Village that will be offering discounts a week from today -- Tuesday December 1 -- for holiday shoppers! Stop in and get a great deal on all the goodies that make the season complete (foil-wrapped chocolates, mint chip malt balls, and mellocreme Santas, just to name a few)!

We'll feature some of the most unique contributions on our blog!
Moonstruck Chocolate's Chef Julian Rose-- the company’s master chocolatier and the host of our Wine and Chocolate event earlier this year -- was named to Dessert Professional magazine'sfirst annual list of Top Ten Chocolatiers for North America! The 2009 Top Ten Chocolatiers list will be featured in the December issue of Dessert Professional magazine.
At the Chocolate and Wine event, Chef Rose shared his knowledge from a classical pastry education and 25-year professional career, beginning with his earliest days working in his parents’ pastry shop. As Moonstruck’s Master Chocolatier, Chef Rose develops new delicious morsels and refines our existing favorites. We know we can always count on Moonstruck Chocolate for beautiful and delicious goodies, thanks to Chef Rose!
We want to extend thanks once again to Chef Rose for taking the time to teach us all so much about chocolate, and wine! It was another incredible evening at the Confectionery!
Congratulations to Conor Rodihan who won our 200 Fans contest on Facebook! Conor wins a $50 gift certificate and a candy gift! Thank you so much to everyone that helped us reach our goal of 200 fans in just four days!
Now that fall is here (really, really here--cloud cover and all) we started thinking about all the nice warm things that give us comfort through the colder months. And of course one of the first things that came to mind was Moonstruck's incredible Mayan truffle. We carry this morsel all year, but there's no better time than a gray day to have a savory sensation from south of the border -- chocolate, almonds and cinnamon blend seamlessly to make this an excellent pairing with a morning coffee, or an afternoon cup of cocoa. (We don't believe in chocolate moderation.)
From 4 to 6 PM this Saturday (Halloween!) more than 30 of the stores at the University Village -- including yours truly! -- will be hosting families for the annual Trick or Treat event! All the Candy Girls will be dressed up and we love rewarding kids in fun, scary and clever costumes with delicious free treats. Can't wait to see you there!
We are so excited about the cards and calendars we're now carrying from local Seattle artist Ilee! Her beautiful illustrations are wonderful, functional pieces of art. We love how she captured the mood of the Halloween season for the October sheet in her 2009 and 2010 calendar, and the invitation below.
Come in and check out the other, equally wonderful things we are carrying from Ilee!

Halloween is a great time to remember the magic of being a kid. We wanted to make sure the local Ronald McDonald house was equipped with all our favorite treats, so we donated a gift basket which included: the best candy corn in town, a house blend of delicious Jelly Belly beans, a blend of our chocolate-covered toffee, colorful taffy, and our delectable malt balls! And we included this incredible spooky skeleton candy dish - complete with Cousin It-style candy jar hands. It's hard not to go overboard with our favorite holiday!
Three cheers for Halloween, the best holiday in the Candy year. It's always been one of our favorites, and to help you celebrate we have not only our spectacular selection of holiday goodies but lots of decorations as well. And of course we are your one-stop shop for the best Halloween gift bags and baskets.
Here are some initial boxes we filled with lemon, pina colada, French vanilla and Licorice Jelly Belly beans for a wedding recently! The great thing about these boxes is you can fill them with almost anything--truffles, milkies, jordan almonds, malt balls--in custom colors to go perfectly with your party theme! What's better than adorable and delicious Jelly Belly wedding favors? Pairing those with cupcakes from Sprinkles. They are the best cupcakes!
